Progress in District 6

Below are just some of what I’ve been able to accomplish with your help since taking the oath to uphold the Constitution and fulfill the duties of the office of District 6 Councilman. We have made a great team thus far in this battle and, God willing, we will continue to stand for truth and count our victories.

  • Chairman of the Ethics Committee – Responsible for exposing corruption in St. Louis County government leading to the indictment of Steve Stenger, Sheila Sweeney & others.
  • Following Steve Stenger’s indictment, Better Together retracts its plans to merge the City and County.
  • Introduced and passed legislation to fund the Senior Tax freeze program despite petty politics on the Council.
  • Brand new state of the art Precinct 3 Police Station @ 11520 Gravois Road.
  • Tesson Ridge – Fought for single family homes and villas along with commercial development on 100 acres that was formerly American General.
  • Legislation intro’d and passed-1000 ft. buffer between vape/marijuana sales & churches, day cares, schools.
  • Multiple residential single family new developments throughout South County
  • As always, stood up to apartment developers, including low-income potential developer “Rise” at the Sisters of Notre Dame property in Lemay.
  • Encouraging and supporting renovation efforts of Nims Mansion through Port Authority leading to historic preservation and economic development in Oakville.
  • Engaged in thoughtful planning along all corridors in S. County such as Chik-Fil-A & Chipotle (coming soon) on Tesson Ferry, Starbucks and Domino’s on Telegraph, Scooter’s on S. Lindbergh, Social Dogwood (coming soon) on Tesson Ferry, new build construction plaza at Bayless & Lemay Ferry, and more coming such as new commercial construction at Tesson Ridge.
  • Continues to fight against predatory developers that specialize in low-income housing, homeless shelters, halfway houses, self-storage, and others.
  • Legislation intro’d and passed for 1 mile distance between storage unit facilities
  • No MetroLink Expansioninto District 6 or anywhere in South St. Louis County.
  • Stood up to & defeated a bogus Recall Effort & bogus Quo Warranto charge brought by Bob McCulloch.
  • Contributed to the conception and inception of an exclusive Problem Property Unit, coordinating with the Department of Public Works, Police, and the St. Louis County Counselor’s office.
  • Introduced and passed bill to control Panhandling.  Although Sam Page vetoed it, Ernie will continue to fight for this legislation to pass.
  • Responds quickly and effectively to over 150,000 constituents that reside in District 6.
  • Has earned respect with all utility company government liaisons and gets things done for his constituents.
  • As Ex-Officio to Port Authority, demanded outside investigation of  City of St. Louis Plan for Airport Privatization.  Within 24 hours, Lyda Krewson announces the privatization plan is defunct.
  • Uncovered secret plans for Creve Coeur Park ice skating facility disguised as storm water sewer project.  Project stopped and withdrawn.  Park remains green space.
  • Loop Trolley exposed as fraud on taxpayers and denied additional St. Louis County taxpayer money.
  • Uncovered plans to build $2.5 million bridge to one Steve Stenger donor in exchange for a $45k donation.
  • Only NO vote to taxpayer continued funding of the St. Louis Convention Bureau in the amount of $240Mil.
  • New single family subdivisions.
  • No new apartments or storage facilities without resident input.
  • Makes Problem Properties a priority and it shows. Older South County neighborhoods are stabilizing while new ones are popping up all over.
  • New business development – Tesson Ridge, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Specialty Care Center, Affton Plaza, 9-Mile Garden, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, R&S Headquarter Expansion, Sentinel Emergency Solutions, Sylvan Spring Senior Living Facility (restricted to senior living in perpetuity), Cardinal Glennon Pediatrics, Fitz’s SoCo, Scooter’s, Domino’s, Starbucks, Imo’s, new Marshalls, Five Below, Michael’s, Boot Barn, Planet Hollywood, and new commercial construction throughout South County.
